Harry Reid Needs Michelle Nunn to Enact a Liberal Agenda Too Extreme for Georgia
A Vote for Nunn = Eight More Years of Leader Harry Reid

Yesterday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid made clear that he plans to stick around for eight more years as the Senate Leader. Electing candidates like Michelle Nunn is a critical part of that plan.

Roll Call reports "Reid is up for re-election in 2016 and has repeatedly said he intends to run again. He reiterated that intention again on Wednesday and indicated he’s looking at serving another full term running the Senate, if Democrats hold onto the majority the entire time."

It's no secret that Harry Reid will do everything in his power to elect Democrat Michelle Nunn because he knows that a vote for Nunn for Senate equals a vote for Harry Reid as Majority Leader.  Reid is counting on Michelle Nunn to be a reliable vote for the liberal Obama-Reid agenda.

"Harry Reid told Georgia voters all they need to know about Michelle Nunn by making clear that he and President Obama need her in Washington to enact their radical agenda," said NRSC Press Secretary Brook Hougesen. "A vote for Michelle Nunn equals a vote for eight more years of Harry Reid running the Senate, which means higher taxes, ObamaCare on steroids, and an attack on Second Amendment freedoms. That's bad for Georgians."

Reid Said He Needed Michelle Nunn In The Senate In Order To Enact The Obama Agenda. REID: “But also remember, the president will be only as strong as his Congress. So you’ve got to do everything you can to help Nancy Pelosi elect more House members to get rid of this stuff we have going on in the House, which is really hard to understand. And remember, the strength of the President is in the mighty Senate. We have to have enough to stop McConnell and what he doesn’t do. And we have some good things going on around in the country. We’re not going to go down easy. We’re going to stay up. I talked to Michelle Nunn today, and I think there will be an important announcement out of Georgia tomorrow. That’s Sam Nunn’s daughter, she’s really good.” (Harry Reid, OFA Conference Washington, D.C., 7/22/13)

Harry Reid Said ObamaCare “Has Been Wonderful For America.” REID: “First of all, Obamacare, whatever comes up the Republicans throw that in. You realize they’ve voted to repeal it 40 times. What’s happened 40 times, of course, it’s failed. Obamacare has been wonderful for America …” (NBC’s, “Meet The Press,” 7/14/13)

Harry Reid Continues To Defend The “If You Like It, You Can Keep It” Lie. REID: “Remember what the president said, ‘If you like your insurance, you can keep it.’ There is nobody in America who has the same insurance they had when he said this. We’ve had three different years. Their policies were only for one year. …” ANCHOR: “That was so damaging, a lot of people said, for the president to go out and say you will be able to keep your coverage if you like it. There were thousands of people who found out that was not actually possible.” REID: “But I still go back and say what I said earlier: What he said was true. If you want to keep the insurance you have, you keep it. The problem is, we did not put the bill into effect that way, there are a lot of administrative things to kick in. And there have been three changes in anyone’s policy since then. It’s not the same policy.” (KSNV, 12/3/2013)

Harry Reid Said ObamaCare Is Just A Step Toward Single-Payer Health Care. “‘What we’ve done with Obamacare is have a step in the right direction, but we’re far from having something that’s going to work forever,’ Reid said. When then asked by panelist Steve Sebelius whether he meant ultimately the country would have to have a health care system that abandoned insurance as the means of accessing it, Reid said: ‘Yes, yes. Absolutely, yes.’” (Karoun Demirjian, “Reid Says Obamacare Just A Step Toward Eventual Single-Payer System,” Las Vegas Sun, 8/10/13)

Harry Reid Said “Everybody” Was “Willing To Pay More” Taxes. “‘The only people who feel there shouldn’t be more coming in to the federal government from the rich people are the Republicans in the Congress,’ Reid said. ‘Everybody else, including the rich people, are willing to pay more. They want to pay more.’” (Niels Lesniewski, “Reid: ‘There’s Not Going To Be A Grand Bargain,’” Roll Call, 10/24/13)

Harry Reid Said The Senate Was Not Finished Pushing New Gun Control Legislation. “Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said Friday that Democrats will continue to push for new restrictions on gun ownership, in a floor speech he delivered just one day before the one-year anniversary of the Newtown, Conn., shooting that left 26 dead. ‘Last December I promised the families a meaningful conversation about how to change America's culture of violence,’ Reid said. ‘I want everyone within the sound of my voice to know that the conversation is not over. ‘The American people will prevail on this issue.’” (Pete Kasperowicz, “Reid Says Gun Debate Isn't Over,” The Hill, 12/13/13)

Harry Reid Supports An Assault Weapons Ban. “Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), a lawmaker who has been endorsed by the National Rifle Association in the past, came out on Wednesday in support of strong gun control measures, including a ban on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. He called for "courage" from his colleagues to join him in backing the gun legislation that will be up for a vote in the Senate Wednesday afternoon, and sharply criticized conspiracy theorists who ‘believe in black helicopters’ and are spreading misinformation about the bill.” (Amanda Terkel, “Harry Reid Comes Out For Ban On Assault Weapons, High-Capacity Magazines,” Huffington Post, 4/17/13)
